The Evaluator's 180-Second Scan
An examiner reviewing 200 GS Mains booklets evaluates each answer in approximately 90 to 180 seconds. Dense, uninterrupted paragraphs of generic commentary are quickly scored at average marks (3.5 to 4 out of 10). To capture the competitive 6.5+ mark bracket, your answer must be visually structured for effortless scanning.
The 4-Tier Answer Structure Template
Never define obvious terms. Always anchor directly with a Constitutional Article, Supreme Court Judgment, NITI Aayog Index, or Official Government Committee (e.g., 'According to the 2nd ARC Report on Ethics in Governance...').
Break down arguments across multiple clear dimensions:
- Political & Constitutional
- Economic & Fiscal
- Socio-Cultural & Gender
- Technological & Data
- Legal & Institutional
- Environmental Sustainability
Embed a concise hub-and-spoke diagram, flow chart, or geographical map schematic. It breaks monotony and proves conceptual mastery.
Conclude with a proactive solution, citing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or constitutional morality.
